Weekly Report β Courtown Harbour
Conditions this week have been excellent for bass and ray along the south beach. The easterly wind has stirred up the bottom nicely and the mackerel have been coming in close on the evening tides.
Club members are reminded that the annual competition is scheduled for the last Saturday of the month. Entry forms are available at the harbour office. Minimum fish size applies β please check the current regulations before fishing.
Several members reported good sport from the rocks at Cahore Point on Tuesday evening. Bass to 4kg were recorded, with most fish taken on lug worm in the first two hours of the incoming tide.
Remember to report unusual catches to the Marine Institute tagging programme. Tagged fish returns help us understand migration patterns along the east coast.
